The Standing Senate Committee on Human Rights met this day, at 12 p.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Mobina S. B. Jaffer, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Ataullahjan, Harb, Hubley, Jaffer, McIntyre, Ngo and Oh (7).
In attendance: Julian Walker and Martha Butler, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
The chair informed the committee of the vacancy of the position of deputy chair.
The Honourable Senator Harb moved:
That the Honourable Senator Ataullahjan be deputy chair of this committee.
The question being put on the motion, it was adopted.
The Honourable Senator McIntyre moved that the following budget application for the special study on issues of cyberbullying in Canada with regard to Canada's international human rights obligations in the amount of $ 11,900 be approved for submission to the Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration:

The question being put on the motion, it was adopted.
At 12:05 p.m., pursuant to rule 12-16. (1)(d), the committee proceeded in camera to consider a draft agenda.
It was agreed that the chair be authorized to request from the Senate a modification of the extension of the order of reference relating to the off-reserve study currently on the Notice Paper from October 3, 2013 to the end of March 2013.
At 12:14 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
