The Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology met this day at 4:13 p.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Kelvin Kenneth Ogilvie, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Callbeck, Cordy, Dyck, Eggleton, P.C., Martin, Ogilvie, Rivard, Seidman, Seth, Verner, P.C., and Wallace (11).

In attendance: Sandra Elgersma, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.

Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, May 3, 2012, the committee continued its study on the subject-matter of those elements contained in Division 54 of Part 4 of Bill C-38, An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on March 29, 2012 and other measures.
