The Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology met in camera this day at 4:16 p.m., in room 705, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Kelvin Kenneth Ogilvie, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Cordy, Dyck, Eaton, Eggleton, P.C., Enverga, Martin, Merchant, Ogilvie, Seidman, Seth and Verner, P.C. (11).
In attendance: Sonya Norris, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, February 28, 2013, the committee continued its study of the subject matter of Bill C-314, An Act respecting the awareness of screening among women with dense breast tissue. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 40.)
Pursuant to rule 12-16 (1)(d), the committee considered a draft report.
It was agreed that the report be adopted in principle with the agreed changes and that the steering committee be empowered to approve the final text.
It was agreed that the report be tabled for the information of the Senate only and no request be made for it to be placed on the Orders of the Day.
At 5:15 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
