The Standing Senate Committee on Transport and Communications met in camera this day at 6:47 p.m., in room 256- S, Centre Block, the chair, the Honourable Dennis Dawson, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Boisvenu, Cochrane, Dawson, Eaton, Greene, MacDonald, Martin, Mercer, Merchant, Verner, P.C., and Zimmer (11).

In attendance: Dean Ruffilli, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament; Mona Ishack, Communications Officer, Communications Directorate and Jean-Yves LeFort, Committee Clerk, Committees Directorate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, June 15, 2011, the committee began its consideration on emerging issues related to the Canadian airline industry.

Pursuant to rule 92(2)(e), the committee considered a draft agenda (future business).

It was agreed that the committee proceed to tabling an interim report on the topic of airports in the spring.

At 7:24 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
