The Standing Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met this day at 4:15 p.m., in room 160-S, Centre Block, the chair, the Honourable A. Raynell Andreychuk, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Andreychuk, Ataullahjan, Beyak, Cowan, Downe, Fortin-Duplessis, Johnson, Poirier, Smith, P.C. (Cobourg), Wallace and Wells (11).
In attendance: Mark Palmer, Acting Procedural Clerk; James Lee and Pascal Tremblay, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, October 30, 2014, the committee began its examination of the subject matter of those elements contained in Division 15 of Part 4 of Bill C-43, A second Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on February 11, 2014 and other measures.
WITNESSES:

Cameron MacKay, Director General, Trade Negotiations Bureau;
Stacy-Paul Healy, Counsel, Trade Law Bureau.
The chair made an opening statement.
Mr. MacKay made a statement and, together with Mr. Healy, answered questions.
At 4:35 p.m., the committee suspended.
At 4:39 p.m., pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, November 5, 2014, the committee began its examination of Bill C-41, An Act to implement the Free Trade Agreement between Canada and the Republic of Korea.

Mr. Burney made a statement and, together with Messrs. Hildebrand, Bouchard, MacKay, Smith and Ms. Bourély, answered questions.
At 5:29 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
