The Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry met this day at 5:03 p.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Percy Mockler, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Dagenais, Johnson, Maltais, Mercer, Mockler, Ogilvie, Oh, Robichaud, P.C., and Tkachuk (9).
In attendance: Aïcha Coulibaly, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, April 3, 2014, the committee began its consideration of the the Canadian Food Inspection Agency's User Fee Proposal respecting overtime fees, pursuant to the User Fees Act, S.C. 2004, c. 6, sbs. 4(2).—Sessional Paper No. 2/41-442.
WITNESSES:
Canadian Food Inspection Agency:
Tony Ritchie, Executive Director, Strategic policy and International Affairs;
Linda Webster, Director, Strategic Partnerships Division.
Mr. Ritchie made an opening statement and, together with Ms. Webster, answered questions.
At 5:57 p.m., the committee suspended.
At 6:01 p.m., pursuant to rule 12-16 (1)(d), the committee proceeded in camera to consider a draft report.
After debate, it was agreed that the draft report on the Canadian Food Inspection Agency's User Fee Proposal respecting overtime fees be adopted, on division.
At 6:13 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
