The Standing Senate Committee on Aboriginal Peoples met this day in camera at 6:50 p.m., in room 160-S, Centre Block, the chair, the Honourable Dennis Glen Patterson, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Beyak, Dyck, Enverga, Moore, Ngo, Patterson, Raine, Sibbeston, Tannas and Wallace (10).
Other senator present: The Honourable Senator Watt (1).
In attendance: Martha Butler and Julie Cool, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament, and Jessica Richardson, Committee Clerk, Committees Directorate.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, February 25, 2014, the committee continued its consideration of the challenges and potential solutions relating to First Nations infrastructure on reserves. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 4.)
Pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee considered a draft report.
It was moved:
That senators' staff be permitted to remain in the room during in camera portions of the meeting.
The question being put on the motion, it was adopted.
It was moved:
That the committee allow transcription of today's in camera meeting, that one copy be kept in the office of the clerk of the committee for consultation by committee members present and the committee analysts, and that the transcript be destroyed by the clerk when authorized to do so by the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure, but no later than at the end of this parliamentary session.
The question being put on the motion, it was adopted.
At 8:37 p.m., it was agreed that the committee adjourn to the call of the chair.
