The Standing Senate Committee on Energy, the Environment and Natural Resources met this day at 8:04 a.m., in room 257, East Block, the deputy chair, the Honourable Grant Mitchell, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Black, Boisvenu, Frum, Massicotte, Mitchell, Patterson, Ringuette, Seidman, Sibbeston and Wallace (10).
In attendance: Sam Banks and Marc LeBlanc, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, the committee began its examination of the subject-matter of Bill C-15, An Act to replace the Northwest Territories Act to implement certain provisions of the Northwest Territories Lands and Resources Devolution Agreement and to repeal or make amendments to the Territorial Lands Act, the Northwest Territories Waters Act, the MacKenzie Valley Resource Management Act, other Acts and certain orders and regulations.
