The Standing Senate Committee on Energy, the Environment and Natural Resources met this day at 8:02 a.m., in room 257, East Block, the deputy chair, the Honourable Paul Massicotte, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Boisvenu, MacDonald, Massicotte, Mitchell, Patterson, Ringuette, Seidman and Tannas (8).
In attendance: Sam Banks and Marc LeBlanc, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday November 25, 2014, the committee began its study on Bill C-22, An Act respecting Canada's offshore oil and gas operations, enacting the Nuclear Liability and Compensation Act, repealing the Nuclear Liability Act and making consequential amendments to others Acts.

Mr. Labonté made a statement and, together with Mssrs O'Dea, Millar, Chenier, McCauley, Roman and Ms. Farquharson, answered questions.
