The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met this day, at 9:33 a.m., in room 9, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Joseph A. Day, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Bellemare, Buth, Callbeck, Chaput, Day, Eaton, Gerstein, Hervieux-Payette, P.C., Mockler, Seth and Smith (Saurel) (11).
Other senator present: The Honourable Senator Moore (1).
In attendance: Sylvain Fleury and Raphaëlle Deraspe, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, March 6, 2014, the committee began its examination of the Bill S-204, An Act to amend the Financial Administration Act (borrowing of money).
WITNESSES:
The Honourable Senator Wilfred P. Moore, sponsor of the bill.
Department of Finance Canada:
Dan Calof, Acting Director, Financial Markets Division;
Marie-Josée Lambert, Chief, Domestic Debt Management Policy, Financial Sector Policy Division.

Grahame Johnson, Chief, Funds Management and Banking.

The Honourable Senator Moore made a statement and answered questions.
