The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met this day at 6:45 p.m., in room 9, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Joseph A. Day, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Bellemare, Chaput, Day, Eaton, Gerstein, Hervieux-Payette, P.C., Rivard, Smith (Saurel) and Tannas (9).
In attendance: Sylvain Fleury and Raphaëlle Deraspe, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, December 11, 2014, the committee continued its examination of Bill C-520, An Act supporting non-partisan offices of agents of Parliament.
WITNESSES:

Office of the Information Commissioner of Canada:
Suzanne Legault, Information Commissioner of Canada.
Office of the Commissioner of Official Languages:
Graham Fraser, Commissioner of Official Languages.
Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada:
Daniel Therrien, Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Public Service Commission of Canada:
Anne-Marie Robinson, President.
Ms. Robinson, Mr. Ferguson, Mr. Therrien, Mr. Fraser and Ms. Legault each made a statement and answered questions.
At 8:18 p.m., the committee suspended.
At 8:24 p.m., the committee, pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), resumed in camera to consider a draft agenda (future business).
It was agreed that senators' staff be allowed to stay in the room, with the condition that no blackberries be used.
At 8:56 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
