The Standing Senate Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met in camera this day at 5:45 p.m., in room 505, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Fabian Manning, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Hubley, Manning, McInnis, Meredith, Munson, Poirier, Raine, Stewart Olsen and Wells (9).

In attendance: Odette Madore, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.

Pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee considered a draft agenda (future business).

It was moved:

That the committee proceed with clause-by-clause consideration of Bill S-224, An Act respecting National Seal and Seafood Products Day, and Bill C-555, An Act respecting the Marine Mammal Regulations (seal fishery observation licence), on Tuesday, May 26, 2015.

After debate, the question being put on the motion, it was adopted.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Monday, December 9, 2013, the committee continued its study on the regulation of aquaculture, current challenges and future prospects for the industry in Canada. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 2.)

Pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee considered a draft report.

At 6:20 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
