The Standing Senate Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met in camera this day at 5:34 p.m., in room 505, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Fabian Manning, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Fortin-Duplessis, Hubley, Manning, McInnis, Meredith, Munson, Poirier, Raine and Stewart Olsen (9).
In attendance: Odette Madore, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Monday, December 9, 2013, the committee continued its study on the regulation of aquaculture, current challenges and future prospects for the industry in Canada. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 2.)
Pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee considered a draft report.
It was moved:
That the committee adopt Volumes 1 and 2 of its report on the regulation of aquaculture, current challenges and future prospects for the industry in Canada.
The question being put on the motion, it was adopted.
Pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee considered a draft agenda (future business).
It was moved:
That the committee allow the transcription of the in camera portion of its meeting on May 26, 2015, that one copy be kept in the office of the clerk of the committee for consultation by committee members present or by the committee analyst, and
That the transcript be destroyed by the clerk when authorized to do so by the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure, but no later than the end of this parliamentary session.
The question being put on the motion, it was adopted.
At 6:47 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
