The Standing Senate Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met in camera this day at 5:06 p.m., in room 505, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Fabian Manning, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Hubley, McInnis, Meredith, Munson, Poirier, Raine, Stewart Olsen and Wells (8).

In attendance: Odette Madore and Penny Becklumb, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.

Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Monday, December 9, 2013, the committee continued its study on the regulation of aquaculture, current challenges and future prospects for the industry in Canada. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 2.)

Pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee considered a draft report.

It was agreed:

That the draft of the committee's report on aquaculture, specifically Volume 3 based on today's discussions, be circulated to members as an electronically encrypted file.

At 6:05 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
