The Standing Senate Committee on Human Rights met this day at 4:01 p.m., in room 160-S, Centre Block, the chair, the Honourable Mobina S. B. Jaffer, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Ataullahjan, Eaton, Hubley, Jaffer, Marshall and Ngo (6).
In attendance: Julia Nicol and Jean-Phillipe Duguay, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, November 19, 2013, the committee continued its study to monitor issues relating to human rights and, inter alia, to review the machinery of government dealing with Canada's international and national human rights obligations. Ms. Brown, Mr. Jeffcott and Ms. Bader-Blau made statements and, together with Ms. Molina, answered questions.
