The Standing Senate Committee on National Security and Defence has the honour to present its

FOURTH REPORT

Your committee, which was authorized by the Senate on Thursday, December 12, 2013 to examine and report on the policies, practices, and collaborative efforts of Canada Border Services Agency in determining admissibility to Canada and removal of inadmissible individuals, respectfully request funds for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2015 and requests, for the purpose of such study, that it be empowered:

a) to engage the services of such counsel, technical, clerical and other personnel as may be necessary; and

b) to travel inside Canada.

Pursuant to Chapter 3:06, section 2(1)(c) of the Senate Administrative Rules, the budget submitted to the Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration and the report thereon of that committee are appended to this report.

Extract from the Journals of the Senate of Thursday, December 12, 2013:

The Honourable Senator Lang moved, seconded by the Honourable Senator Unger:

That the Senate Standing Committee on National Security and Defence be authorized to examine and report on the policies, practices, and collaborative efforts of Canada Border Services Agency in determining admissibility to Canada and removal of inadmissible individuals; and

That the Committee report to the Senate no later than December 31, 2014, and that it retain all powers necessary to publicize its findings until 90 days after the tabling of the final report.
