The Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology met this day, at 4:15 p.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Kelvin Kenneth Ogilvie, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Cordy, Eaton, Eggleton, P.C., Enverga, Nancy Ruth, Ogilvie, Seidman, Seth and Tannas (9).
In attendance: Sonya Norris, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Service.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, November 19, 2013, the committee continued its study on prescription pharmaceuticals in Canada. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 3.)

Federation of Medical Regulatory Authorities of Canada:
Fleur-Ange Lefebvre, Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer.
Canadian Medical Association:
Owen Adams, Vice-president, Health Policy and Research;
Millicent Toombs, Director, Public Health Department.
The chair made a statement.
Ms. Cooper, Mr. Emberley, Ms. Lefebvre and Mr. Adams each made a statement and, together with Ms. Toombs, answered questions.
At 6:02 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
