The Standing Senate Committee on Transport and Communications met this day at 9:31 a.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the deputy chair, the Honourable Leo Housakos, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Demers, Greene, Housakos, MacDonald, Merchant, Plett, Unger and Verner, P.C. (8).
In attendance: Dillian Theckedath and Alexandre Lavoie, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, October 30, 2014, the committee began its consideration of the subject matter of those elements contained in Divisions 2, 6, 10, 11, 16, and 21 of Part 4 of Bill C-43, A second Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on February 11, 2014 and other measures.

Mr. Roussel, Ms. Henry and Ms. Nakatsu made presentations and, together with Ms. Rudge and Ms. Currie, answered questions.
At 10:17 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 10:26 a.m., the committee resumed.
Ms. Fancy and Mr. Scott made statements and, together with Ms. Jensen, answered questions.
At 11 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
