The Standing Senate Committee on Transport and Communications met in camera this day at 9:30 a.m., in room 257, East Block, the chair, the Honourable Dennis Dawson, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Dawson, Demers, Eggleton, P.C., Greene, Housakos, MacDonald, Plett and Verner, P.C. (8).

In attendance: Dillian Theckedath, Terrence (Terry) Thomas Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament; Karen Schwinghamer, Communications Officer, Senate Communications Directorate; Michel Bédard, Parliamentary Counsel, Office of the Law Clerk.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Monday, December 9, 2013, the committee continued its study on the challenges faced by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in relation to the changing environment of broadcasting and communications. Pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee considered a draft report.

At 10:59 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
