The Subcommittee on Veterans Affairs of the Standing Senate Committee on National Security and Defence met this day at 12 p.m., in room 257, East Block, the chair, the Honourable Joseph A. Day, presiding.
Members of the subcommittee present: The Honourable Senators Beyak, Day, Stewart Olsen and White (4).
In attendance: Martin Auger and Isabelle Lafontaine-Émond, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, and delegated on Monday, April 28, 2014 by the Standing Senate Committee on National Security and Defence, the subcommittee continued its consideration of the medical, social, and operational impacts of mental health issues affecting serving and retired members of the Canadian Armed Forces, including operational stress injuries (OSIs) such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The chair made an opening statement.
Mr. Doiron and Mr. Ross each made a statement and, together, answered questions.
At 1:07 p.m., the subcommittee adjourned to the call of the chair.
