The Standing Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met this day at 10:30 a.m., in room C128, Senate of Canada Building, the deputy chair, the Honourable Paul J. Massicotte, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Boehm, Bovey, Coyle, Dawson, Dean, Greene, Massicotte and Ngo (8).
In attendance: Pascal Tremblay and Brett Capwell, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, May 16, 2019, the committee continued its consideration of Bill C-82, An Act to implement a multilateral convention to implement tax treaty related measures to prevent base erosion and profit shifting.

The deputy chair made a statement.
Ms. Gheorghiu and Mr. Sanger each made statements and answered questions.

At 11:16 a.m., pursuant to rule12-16(1)(d), the committee resumed in camera to consider a draft report.
It was agreed that senators' staff be permitted to remain in the room during the in camera portions of the meeting.
At 11:21 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 11:22 a.m., the committee resumed in public.
The deputy chair made a statement.
It was agreed that the committee proceed to clause-by-clause consideration of Bill C-82, An Act to implement a multilateral convention to implement tax treaty related measures to prevent base erosion and profit shifting.
It was agreed that the title stand postponed.
