The Standing Senate Committee on Banking, Trade and Commerce met this day at 4:18 p.m., in room 9, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Douglas Black, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Black, Dagenais, Downe, Marwah, Omidvar, Stewart Olsen, Tannas, Tkachuk, Unger, Wallin and Wetston (11).
Other senator present: The Honourable Senator Massicotte (1).
In attendance: Adriane Yong, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, November 23, 2017, the committee continued its examination of Bill C-25, An Act to amend the Canada Business Corporations Act, the Canada Cooperatives Act, the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act, and the Competition Act. Ms. Mac Isaac-Butler, Ms. Kaplan and Mr. Allen each made a statement and, together with Mr. Meunier, answered questions.
At 6:02 p.m., the committee suspended.
At 6:04 p.m., pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee resumed in camera to consider a draft agenda (future business).
At 6:16 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
