The Standing Senate Committee on Energy, the Environment and Natural Resources met this day at 5:19 p.m., in room 257, East Block, the chair, the Honourable Richard Neufeld, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Black, Dean, Fraser, Griffin, Lang, MacDonald, Massicotte, Meredith, Mockler, Neufeld, Patterson, Seidman and Wetston (13).
In attendance: Sam Banks and Marc LeBlanc, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament; Sonia Noreau, Marcy Galipeau and Corey Larocque, Communications Officers, Communications Directorate.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, March 10, 2016, the committee continued its study on the effects of transitioning to a low carbon economy. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 4.)

The chair made a statement.
Mr. Erikson made a statement and answered questions.
At 6:26 p.m., the committee suspended.
At 6:28 p.m., pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee resumed in camera to examine a draft report.
It was agreed:
That the committee allow the audio recording of the parts of the meeting held in camera, that a copy be kept in the office of the clerk for consultation by members of the committee in attendance, and that a copy be kept for committee analysts;
That the recording be destroyed by the clerk when the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure authorizes her to do so, but at the latest at the end of the parliamentary session.
At 7:11 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
