The Standing Senate Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met this day at 5:10 p.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the deputy chair, the Honourable Elizabeth Hubley, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Eaton, Enverga, Hubley, Manning, McInnis, Munson, Poirier, Raine, Sinclair and Wallace (10).
In attendance: Odette Madore, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, April 14, 2016, the committee continued its study on Maritime Search and Rescue activities, including current challenges and opportunities. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 4.)
WITNESSES:
Canadian Coast Guard:
Mario Pelletier, Deputy Commissioner, Operations;
Gregory Lick, Director General, Operations.
The deputy chair made a statement.
Mr. Pelletier made a statement and, together with Mr. Lick, answered questions.
At 6:13 p.m., the Honourable Senator Manning took the chair.
It was agreed that the committee proceed in camera, pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), for the consideration of a draft agenda (future business).
At 6:36 p.m., the committee suspended.
At 6:40 p.m., the committee resumed in camera, pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), to consider a draft agenda (future business).
At 7:10 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
