The Standing Senate Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met this day at 6:04 p.m., in room 9, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Fabian Manning, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Christmas, Enverga, Forest, Gold, Hubley, Manning, McInnis, Poirier, Raine, Sinclair and Watt (11).

In attendance: Odette Madore, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.

Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, April 14, 2016, the committee continued its study on Maritime Search and Rescue activities, including current challenges and opportunities. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 4.)

Michael Teeter, Political Advisor.

The chair made a statement.

Ms. Collins made a statement and, together with Mr. Teeter, answered questions.
