The Standing Senate Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met in camera this day at 8:21 a.m., in Salon B/C/D, Holiday Inn St. John's-Govt Center, the chair, the Honourable Fabian Manning, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Christmas, Doyle, Hubley, Manning and McInnis (5).
In attendance: Odette Madore, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament and Mireille LaForge, Clerk, Senate Committees Directorate.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee considered a draft budget.
At 8:28 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 8:38 a.m., the committee resumed in public.
The Honourable Senator Hubley moved:
That the following budget application for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2018, in relation to the special study on Maritime Search and Rescue activities, including current challenges and opportunities, be approved for submission to the Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration:
