The Standing Committee on Rules, Procedures and the Rights of Parliament met this day at 9:31 a.m., in room 257, East Block, the chair, the Honourable Joan Fraser, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Batters, Bellemare, Cools, Fraser, Frum, Jaffer, Joyal, P.C., Martin, Ogilvie, Tkachuk, Wells and White (12).

Other senator present: The Honourable Senator Lankin, P.C. (1).

Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, the committee continued its consideration of the case of privilege relating to the leaks of the Auditor General's report on the audit of the Senate.

WITNESSES:

Office of the Auditor General of Canada:

Michael Ferguson, Auditor General of Canada;

Clyde MacLellan, Assistant Auditor General of Canada;

Jean-Charles Parisé, Principal;

Susan Gomez, Director.

Mr. Ferguson made a statement and, with Mr. Parisé and Mr. MacLellan, answered questions.

At 10:47 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
