The Standing Senate Committee on National Security and Defence met this day at 12 p.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Daniel Lang, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Beyak, Dagenais, Kenny, Lang, Lankin, P.C., McPhedran, Saint-Germain, Wallin and White (9).
Other senators present: The Honourable Senators Baker, P.C., and Runciman (2).
In attendance: Marcus Pistor, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, February 1, 2017, the committee began its examination of Bill S-233, An Act to amend the Customs Act and the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (presentation and reporting requirements).
