The Standing Senate Committee on National Security and Defence met in camera this day at 8:02 a.m., in room 705, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Daniel Lang, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Beyak, Boniface, Carignan, P.C., Dagenais, Jaffer, Lang and White (7).

Other senator present: The Honourable Senator Boisvenu (1).

In attendance: Marcy Galipeau, Communications Officer, Senate Communications Directorate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, April 21, 2016, the committee continued its study on issues related to the Defence Policy Review presently being undertaken by the government. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 4.)

Pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee proceeded to the consideration of a draft report.

It was agreed that the draft report be adopted and that the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure be authorized to approve the final report.

At 9:58 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
