The Standing Senate Committee on National Security and Defence met this day at 11:45 a.m., in room B45, Senate of Canada Building, the chair, the Honourable Gwen Boniface, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Boisvenu, Boniface, Dagenais, Gold, Griffin, Jaffer, McIntyre, McPhedran, Oh, Pratte, Richards and Stewart Olsen (12).
In attendance: Christina Yeung and Ariel Shapiro, Analyst, Parliament Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, the committee began its consideration of Bill C-59, An Act respecting national security matters.

At 12:54 p.m., the committee suspended.
At 1 p.m., the committee resumed.
Mr. Brown, Mr. Vigneault, Ms. Eid, Ms. Bruce and Mr. Breithaupt answered questions.
At 1:47 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
