The Standing Senate Committee on National Security and Defence met this day at 11:46 a.m., in room W120, 1 Wellington Street, the chair, the Honourable Gwen Boniface, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Boisvenu, Boniface, Busson, Dagenais, Gold, Griffin, McIntyre, McPhedran, Oh, Pratte and Richards (11).
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, April 30, 2019, the committee began its consideration of Bill C-77, An Act to amend the National Defence Act and to make related and consequential amendments to other Acts.
WITNESSES:

Joshua Juneau, Barrister and Solicitor, Michel Drapeau Law Office.

Heidi Illingworth, Federal Ombudsman for Victims of Crime.
The chair made a statement.
Colonel Drapeau made a statement and, together with Mr. Juneau, answered questions.
At 12:46 p.m., the committee suspended.
At 12:50 p.m., the committee resumed.
Mr. Lévesque and Ms. Illingworth each made a statement and together answered questions.
At 1:45 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
