The Standing Senate Committee on Transport and Communications met this day at 9:30 a.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the Deputy Chair, the Honourable Michael L. MacDonald, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Boisvenu, Doyle, Eggleton, P.C., Greene, MacDonald, Mercer, Runciman and Unger (8).
In attendance: Jed Chong and Nicole Sweeny, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament; Victor Senna and Maxime Fortin, Procedural Clerks, Committees Directorate; Marcy Galipeau and Geneviève Sicard, Committees Liaison Officers, Senate Communications Directorate.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, the committee met in camera to continue its study on the development of a strategy to facilitate the transport of crude oil to eastern Canadian refineries and to ports on the East and West coasts of Canada. Pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee considered a draft report.
At 10:26 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 10:33 a.m., the committee resumed in public.
