The Standing Senate Committee on Transport and Communications met this day at 1:29 p.m., in room Opus II, Mezzanine Level, Delta Montreal, the acting chair, the Honourable Terry Mercer, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Boisvenu, Doyle, Mercer and Smith (4).
Other senator present: The Honourable Senator Pratte (1).
In attendance: Jed Chong, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament, Sonia Noreau, Communications Officer, Senate Communications Directorate; Daniel Charbonneau, Procedural Clerk, Senate Committee Directorate.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, the committee continued its study on the development of a strategy to facilitate the transport of crude oil to eastern Canadian refineries and to ports on the East and West coasts of Canada. Mr. Forget made a statement and, together with Mr. Laureti, answered questions.
At 2:16 p.m., the committee suspended.
At 2:26 p.m., the committee resumed.
Mr. Leblanc made a statement answered questions.
At 2:57 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
