The Standing Senate Committee on Transport and Communications met this day at 1:29 p.m., in room 3, 2nd Floor, Saint John Public Library, the deputy chair, the Honourable Michael L. MacDonald, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Boisvenu, Doyle, MacDonald, Mercer and Mockler (5).
In attendance: Jed Chong, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament; Sonia Noreau, Communications Officer, Senate Communications Directorate.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, the committee continued its study on the development of a strategy to facilitate the transport of crude oil to eastern Canadian refineries and to ports on the East and West coasts of Canada. At 2 p.m., the committee resumed.

At 3:12 p.m., the committee resumed.
Chief Tremblay made a statement in his native language and, together with Ms. Brooks, answered questions.
At 4:12 p.m., the committee suspended.
At 4:21 p.m., the committee resumed.
Mr. Lacroix and Mr. Matossian made statements and answered questions.
At 5:12 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
