The Standing Senate Committee on Transport and Communications met this day at 9:30 a.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the deputy chair, the Honourable Michael L. MacDonald, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Black, Boisvenu, Doyle, Eggleton, P.C., Greene, MacDonald, Mercer and Runciman (8).
Other senator present: The Honourable Senator Cormier (1).
In attendance: Jed Chong and Nicole Sweeney, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament; Victor Senna, Procedural Clerk, Senate Committees Directorate.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, October 25, 2016, the committee continued its examination of Bill S-2, An Act to amend the Motor Vehicle Safety Act and to make a consequential amendment to another Act.

At 10:34 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 10:38 a.m., the committee resumed.
Mr. Jack and Mr. Iny made statements and, together with Mr. Raymond, answered questions.
At 11:20 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
