The Standing Senate Committee on Transport and Communications met this day at 6:45 p.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Dennis Dawson, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Beyak, Boisvenu, Bovey, Cormier, Dawson, Eggleton, P.C., Galvez, Griffin, Runciman and Saint-Germain (10).
In attendance: Jed Chong and Nicole Sweeney, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, the committee continued its examination of the regulatory and technical issues related to the deployment of connected and automated vehicles. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 1.)

General Motors of Canada Company:
Harry Lightsey, Executive Director, Emerging Technologies Policy;
David Paterson, Vice President, Corporate and Environmental Affairs.
The chair made a statement.
Mr. Paterson and Mr. Nantais made statements and, together with Mr. Lightsey, answered questions.
At 8 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
