The Standing Senate Committee on Transport and Communications met this day at 6:43 p.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable David Tkachuk, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Boisvenu, Cormier, Dawson, Gagné, MacDonald, Manning, Miville-Dechêne, Plett, Tkachuk and Wetston (10).
In attendance: Jed Chong and Zackery Shaver, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, October 18, 2018, the committee began its examination of Bill C-64, An Act respecting wrecks, abandoned, dilapidated or hazardous vessels and salvage operations.

Julie Gascon, Director General, Operations, Canadian Coast Guard.
The chair made a statement.
The minister made a statement and, together with Ms. Sanders, Ms. Gascon and Mr. Bertin, answered questions.
At 7:48 p.m., the committee suspended.
At 7:50 p.m., the committee resumed.
At 8:01 p.m., the committee suspended.
At 8:04 p.m., pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee resumed in camera to consider a draft agenda (future business).
At 8:12 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
