The Subcommittee on Veterans Affairs of the Standing Senate Committee on National Security and Defence met this day at 12:05 p.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Joseph A. Day, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Day, Lang and White (3).

In attendance: Isabelle Lafontaine-Emond and Jean-Rodrigue Paré, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament

Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday May 3, 2016, and delegated to the subcommittee on Wednesday May 4, 2016, by the Standing Senate Committee on National Security and Defence, the subcommittee began its examination of the subject matter of those elements contained in Division 2 of Part 4 of Bill C- 15, An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on March 22, 2016 and other measures.

WITNESS:

Veterans Affairs Canada:

Faith McIntyre, Director General, Policy and Research Division.

The chair made a statement.

Ms. McIntyre made a statement and answered questions.

At 12:58 p.m., the subcommittee adjourned to the call of the chair.
