The Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry met this day at 6:30 p.m., in room B45, Senate of Canada Building, the chair, the Honourable Robert Black, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Black, Burey, Cotter, Dalphond, Klyne, Mockler, Oh, Petitclerc, Simons and Woo (10).

Participating in the meeting: Joanne Markle LaMontagne, Analyst, Library of Parliament.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, the committee continued its consideration of Bill C-234, An Act to amend the Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act.

Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities:

Ray Orb, President (by videoconference).

Jasmin Guénette and Ray Orb each made a statement and answered questions.

At 7:43 p.m., the committee suspended.

At 7:44 p.m., pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee resumed in camera to discuss a draft agenda (future business).

At 7:50 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
