The Standing Senate Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met this day at 9:04 a.m., in room W110, 1 Wellington St., the chair, the Honourable Fabian Manning, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Ataullahjan, Busson, Cordy, Manning and Smith (5).

Participating in the meeting: Daniele Lafrance, Analyst, Library of Parliament.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, February 10, 2022, the committee continued its examination of the federal government's current and evolving policy framework for managing Canada’s fisheries and oceans including maritime safety.

WITNESSES:

Jerry V. DeMarco, Commissioner of the Environment and Sustainable Development;

David Normand, Principal;

Milan Duvnjak, Principal.

Jerry V. DeMarco made a statement and, together with David Normand, answered questions.
