The Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration met this day, at 8:33 a.m., the chair, the Honourable David Tkachuk, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Carignan, Charette-Poulin, Comeau, Cordy, Downe, Doyle, Furey, Kinsella, Marshall, Munson, Smith (Saurel), Stewart Olsen, Stratton, Tardif and Tkachuk (15).
In attendance: Mr. Gary W. O'Brien, Clerk of the Senate and other senior Senate officials.
IE/2012-12-13/263(P) — Adoption of Minutes of Proceedings
It was moved, by Senator Cordy, that the Minutes of Proceedings of December 6, 2012, public portion, be adopted.
The question being put on the motion, it was resolved in the affirmative.

The Chair of the Subcommittee on the Review of Committee Budgets and International Travel, Senator Comeau, presented the Twenty-seventh Report of the Subcommittee as follows:

The Subcommittee on the Review of Committee Budgets and International Travel of the Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration has the honour to present its
TWENTY-SEVENTH REPORT
Your subcommittee recommends the release of the following amounts for fiscal year 2012-2013:
Energy, the Environment and Natural Resources (Hydrocarbon Transportation)
General Expenses $ 10,753 Activity 1: Hamilton, Sarnia $ 40,402 Activity 2: Calgary, Alberta $ 75,588 Total $126,743 (includes funds for fact-finding missions)
Foreign Affairs and International Trade (Turkey)
Activity 1: Turkey $ 211,600 Total $ 211,600 (includes funds for a fact-finding mission and business class travel for staff)
Notwithstanding the Financial Regulations and Guidelines Regarding Senate Committees adopted on May 1, 1990, your subcommittee recommends that business class air travel be approved for the staff travelling with the committee on this fact-finding mission to Turkey.

On motion of Senator Comeau, it was agreed, with Senator Downe abstaining, that the Twenty-seventh Report of the Subcommittee on the Review of Committee Budgets and International Travel be adopted.
