The Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration met this day at 8:35 a.m., in room 160- S, Centre Block, the chair, the Honourable Leo Housakos, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Cordy, Downe, Furey, Housakos, Lang, Manning, Marshall, McInnis, Munson, Smith (Saurel), Tannas, Tkachuk, Wells and White (14).

Also in attendance: Nicole Proulx, Chief Corporate Services Officer and Clerk of the Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration, Charles Robert, Clerk of the Senate and Clerk of the Parliaments and Chief Legislative Officer, Michel Patrice Law Clerk and Parliamentary Counsel and Chief, Parliamentary Precinct Services and other senior Senate officials.

Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.

CIBA/2015-06-04/235(P) — Adoption of Minutes of Proceedings

It was moved by Senator Tkachuk that the minutes of proceedings of May 14, 2015, in public portion, be adopted.

The question being put on the motion, it was adopted.

CIBA/2015-06-04/236(P) — Referral from the Senate of Subject Matter of those Elements Contained in Division 10 of Part 3 of Bill C-59

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, May 14, 2015, the committee began its examination of subject matter of those elements contained in Division 10 of Part 3 of Bill C-59, An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on April 21, 2015 and other measures.

Mr. Patrice made a statement and, together with Mr. Duguay, answered questions.

At 9:40 a.m., the committee continued in camera.

At 10:38 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
