The Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry met this day at 8 a.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the deputy chair, the Honourable Terry Mercer, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Beyak, Dagenais, Mercer, Ogilvie, Oh, Tardif and Unger (7).
In attendance: Aïcha Coulibaly, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, January 28, 2016, the committee continued its study on international market access priorities for the Canadian agricultural and agri-food sector. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 1)
WITNESSES:

Jim Everson, Executive Director.
Barley Council of Canada:
Phil de Kemp, Executive Director.
Canadian Trucking Alliance:
Stephen Laskowski, Senior Vice President, Economic Affairs;
Jennifer Fox, Vice President, Security and Customs.
The deputy chair made a statement.
Mr. Everson and Mr. de Kemp made statements and answered questions.
At 8:52 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 9:03 a.m., the committee resumed.
Mr. Laskowski made a statement and, together with Ms. Fox, answered questions.
At 9:57 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the deputy chair.
