The Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry met this day at 8:04 a.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Ghislain Maltais, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Bernard, Beyak, Dagenais, Doyle, Gagné, Maltais, Ogilvie, Oh, Petitclerc, Pratte, Tardif and Woo (12).
In attendance: Aïcha Coulibaly, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, March 9, 2017, the committee continued its study on the potential impact of the effects of climate change on the agriculture, agri-food and forestry sectors. At 9:33 a.m., pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee resumed in camera to consider a draft agenda (future business).
At 9:46 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 9:48 a.m., the committee resumed in public.
The Honourable Senator Tardif moved:
That the following budget application for travel to Halifax and Montréal (as it pertains to our order of reference dealing with the potential impact of the effects of climate change on the agriculture, agri-food and forestry sectors and the actions undertaken to increase adaptation and emissions reduction strategies) for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2018, be approved for submission to the Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration following a final review by the Senate administration that will be overseen by the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure.
