The Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry met in camera this day at 8:07 a.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Diane F. Griffin, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Dagenais, Doyle, Gagné, Griffin, Maltais, Mercer, Oh, Petitclerc, Pratte and Woo (10).

In attendance: Aïcha Coulibaly, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.

Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee considered a draft agenda (future business).

At 8:46 a.m., the committee suspended.

At 9:03 a.m., the committee resumed in public.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, March 9, 2017, the committee continued its study on the potential impact of the effects of climate change on the agriculture, agri-food and forestry sectors. APPEARING:

The Honourable Lawrence MacAulay, P.C., M.P., Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food.

WITNESS:

Chris Forbes, Deputy Minister.

The chair made a statement.

Minister MacAulay made a statement and, together with Mr. Forbes, answered questions.

At 10:02 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
