The Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry met this day at 6:05 p.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Diane F. Griffin, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Ataullahjan, Black (Ontario), Dagenais, Doyle, Gagné, Griffin, Maltais, Mercer, Oh, Petitclerc and Woo (11).
In attendance: Aïcha Coulibaly, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on April 24, 2018, the committee continued its consideration of the subject matter of those elements contained in Part 5, insofar as that Part relates to farming of Bill C-74, An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on February 27, 2018 and other measures. The chair made a statement.
Mr. Lewis and Mr. Mazier made statements and answered questions.
At 6:57 p.m., the committee suspended.
At 7:03 p.m., the committee resumed.
Mr. van den Heuvel made a statement and, together with Ms. Maclean, answered questions.
At 7:50 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
