The Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry met this day at 8:03 a.m., in room W110, 1 Wellington St., the chair, the Honourable Diane F. Griffin, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Bernard, Black (Ontario), Dagenais, Deacon (Nova Scotia), Doyle, Griffin, Kutcher, Maltais, Mercer, Miville-Dechêne, Moodie and Oh (12).
In attendance: Corentin Bialais and Xavier Deschenes-Philion, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, February 15, 2018, the committee continued its study on how the value-added food sector can be more competitive in global markets. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 47).

Emily Haynes, Executive Director.

David Hughes, Emeritus Professor of Food Marketing, Imperial College London (by video conference).
The chair made a statement.
Mr. Wolfson and Ms. Haynes each made statements and answered questions.
At 9:04 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 9:10 a.m., the committee resumed.
Mr. Hughes made a statement and answered questions.
At 10 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
