The Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry met in camera this day at 6:12 p.m., in room B30, Senate of Canada Building, the chair, the Honourable Diane F. Griffin, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Bernard, Dagenais, Deacon (Nova Scotia), Doyle, Griffin, Kutcher, Miville-Dechêne, Moodie, Oh and Ravalia (10).

In attendance: Corentin Bialais and Xavier Deschenes-Philion, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, May 2, 2019, the committee continued its consideration of the subject matter of those elements contained in Subdivision C of Division 9 of Part 4, insofar as it relates to food, and in Subdivision J of Division 9 of Part 4 of Bill C-97, An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on March 19, 2019 and other measures. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 66).

Pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee considered a draft report.

It was agreed:

That the draft report on the committee's study on the subject matter of Bill C-97 be adopted, as amended, and that the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure be authorized to approve the final version of the report taking into account any changes discussed today as well as grammatical or editorial changes; and

That the chair be authorized to table the amended report in the Senate, at the earliest opportunity.

The question being put on the motion, it was adopted.

At 6:38 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
