The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met this day at 6:45 p.m., in room 9, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Larry Smith, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Campbell, Eaton, Marshall, Mitchell, Mockler, Neufeld and Smith (Saurel) (7).

In attendance: Alex Smith and Sylvain Fleury, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.

Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, February 23, 2016, the committee continued its examination of the Main Estimates for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2017. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 4.)

WITNESSES:

Transport Canada:

André Lapointe, Associate Deputy Minister, Corporate Services and Chief Financial Officer;

Claude Corbin, Director General, Financial Planning and Resources Management.

Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety:

Frank Leduc, Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer.

The chair made an opening statement.

Mr. Lapointe made a statement.

Mr. Leduc made a statement.

Mr. Lapointe, together with Mr. Corbin, and Mr. Leduc answered questions.

At 8:34 p.m., it was agreed that the committee adjourn to the call of the chair.
