The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met this day at 12:06 p.m., in room 257, East Block, the chair, the Honourable Larry Smith, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The honourable senators Marshall, Mockler, Neufeld, Ngo and Smith (5).

Other senator present: The honourable Senator Pratte (1).

In attendance: Alex Smith and Sylvain Fleury, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.

Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, May 12, 2016, the committee began its examination of Supplementary Estimates (A) for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2017.

WITNESSES:

Treasury Board Secretariat:

Brian Pagan, Assistant Secretary, Expenditure Management Sector;

Renée LaFontaine, Assistant Secretary and Chief Financial Officer, Corporate Services Sector;

Marcia Santiago, Executive Director, Expenditure Management Sector.

Mr. Pagan and Ms. LaFontaine each made a statement and, together with Ms. Santiago, answered questions.

At 1:30 p.m., it was agreed that the committee adjourn to the call of the chair.
